San Godenzo

The village of San Enjoying initially born as a feudal domain was transformed later in a place of podestà. Currently its territory stretches in the Valley of Sieve, a beautiful mountainous area bordering Romagna. The name seems to derive from an abbey dedicated to San Gaudenzio monaco. Old Porciano possession of the family, until its sale to the first half of the fourteenth century, the town of Florence, under which has always remained. The economy in times past was based almost entirely on forest products, and pastures. Starting from the eighteenth century there was a development of some industries such as gualchiere and dyeing.
